They don't even always call it manga.
I've seen 漫画 written as コミック before.

YennonCrow is right in what he's saying.

And anime is just short for animation. Japanese people like to shorten loanwords.

Acording to my japanese translator, 'sushi' translates to "sushi; anything made with vinegared rice". When I searched 'Raw fish' I got Sashimi.

Say what the hell you want, but anime is a freaking cartoon. And those of you who go, "Anime is Anime" are just idiots who are far too ashamed to admit that they're watching cartoons.

Hm. While i'm at it, lets get the translation for 'Manga' "(n) comic; cartoon;" ok, now anime, "(n) (abbr) animation" wow. Looking at it that way, its not that different from Looney Toons, or the Disney Channel, now is it?

You're an idiot, seriously...you're going by exact translation. everyone, listen...anime is not the same as cartoons and manga isn't the same as comics. comics are for little kids and people who are still going to be living in their parent's house/basement when they're over 30, and Manga has many different series for many ages, not to mention manga is still in japanese form.

Calling a person names goes against the rules of Japan Forum.

"your going by exact translation" probably because thats exactly what it means.

By the way, as far as I know, most of you live with your parents, and read manga, and watch anime. Thats what DC comics, and Marvel comics fans did, and still do. You arent any better. Pull your head out and open your eyes. And stop believeing your above other people.

YennonCrow 07-07-2007 02:17 PM

and I in turn questioned your intelligence. :)

Comics and cartoons are for the enjoyment of everyone just like manga and anime is for the enjoyment of everyone. You're still no better. And you're not going to be any better. Sorry.

For some reason that makes me happy:D

Oh my, my feelings are so very hurt lmao. Your sense of logic... makes no effin sense. I'm not even going to dignify it with an answer.

And yes they do call Superman 'manga'. I talked to someone in Japan and they were telling me how much they loved our superman manga, after I told him how much I love thier manga.

So technically manga is the same as comic but we use the term manga to refer to Japanese comics. Easy. :D

But Kakashi was so funny and cool, and Hinata was sooooooooo cute, I love Hinata:rheart: :rheart: :rheart: , wish she was real:p

but either way I really enjoyed it, and I felt sad I have no more to watch for a while

Wow... You must have a lot of time on your hands... I've been trying to watch it all but i dont have any time... lol...
