Death Note vs. Detective Conan
 

Both Death Note and Detective Conan are animes that involves investigations and crimes...

What do you think is better when it comes to intelligence, investigations, detectives and solving crimes?

one's a murderer, one's a crime solver. they aren't very similar, but if i had to choose, i'd say pokemon

I'm morally opposed to Death Note.

These two series are very similiar, I dont think it would be right to compare and choose, they both have good qualities.

I feel very stupid for admitting this, but I can't tell if you're serious or not. If you are, may I ask why you're opposed to it?

To the OP though, I haven't seen Detective Conan to compare, but I'll be sure to check it out at some point. I do adore Death Note though, I was completely blown away when I first saw it, the plot was amazing.

I warn you, Detectice Conan is possibly longer than Pokemon . . . It's still awsome and it has more plot . . .it's just long!

Really Death Noteis more of a "debate question" plot while Case Closed is more ofa mystery.

Hmmmm... Hard choice! Well, I must say Death Note... Mostly because I like short series, and well... Death Note doesn't have as many chapters as Detective Conan^^ Manga verse at least, never watched the anime :vsign:
Should I watch the anime? Is it any good?

The anime is identical in plot to the manga, so if you like one there's no reason to dislike the other. It's only around 36 episodes too, and no filler, which in my opinion automatically makes it better than some of the anime series out there that drag themselves out for far too long. The animation is good, and both the original voice acting and the English dub are good too, it's worth watching for sure. The live action films would be a whole other story however :P

xD It seems like people like animes sometimes because the character is "super hot." When I first saw Death Note, I thought L was a creeper. But as I got into it, I ended up thinking he was "super hot" as well, but that's not what kept my interest.

As for deciding, I haven't seen Detective Conan, but I would say Death Note, anyway, because it's by far the best anime I've seen.

Totally agree, I think L is cute:o But that's not why I like it as much as I do!:vsign: (I love drawing L, he's really funny and cute :pinkart:) I read it because it's interesting, a special plot line that keeps you awake at night! Death Note is totally kick-ass:punchbear: Gahaha, just had to say kick-ass, saw the movie last night:marusmile:

The following is a retelling of the entire Death Note Story That is parallel with the Detective Conan Universe. A crossover of the 2 greatest Detective series out there. This start from the beginning to end of Death Note retold, it will feature Detective Conan but since this is primarily in the death note universe, I will put info in quotes to explain things for first timers to Detective Conan.. Here some background Information on Detective Conan. * Don't think this will be the same as the Death note series with Detective conan characters. Sometimes that may be the case but it will feature new scenes, new characters new to both series, the ending may not even be the same.

I would have been on Conan's side if it wasn't so damn long.

They are both so good, but as much as I like death note, I like detective conan even better.:D He's so adorably cute, and he can make so many ways to fix and reveal everything!:mtongue:

I think both of the two stories are very interesting, but I like Conan more. he is a kid but so smart and cute, too :)

but detective conan rarely sticks to the main plot.
i always wonder when the heck is he going to confront the black organization and get his highschooler body back?? O.o

Well according to my point of view, I think that death note is one of the best storylines that I have ever read, every second of the manga is exciting, while Detective Conan is too long that some parts are getting boring

Deathnote is very fun to read. Its story is all related and you can see the story progress sequence by sequence, so everytime I read it I feel like "what happen next?". That's very exciting.

Conan, in the beginning it's good, but after 10+years it become stale. The tricks is hard to understand. They tease us about the black men day after day and we haven't seen where it progress to for 6-7 years. All I feel about Conan is "Hey, Aoyama sensei plz end it, and do something more creative like Yaiba again"
