Niss Misa: You can't tell someone to get a new hobby . . .you just can't . . .

And in my opinion, if we want prices to go down, we'd have to make a big movement to get people to buy anime, as many as possible, spreading these facts around and hope people care enough to buy anime rather than atch it for free.

Seems simple enough . . .it's do-able in the future. Any ideas?

If you want prices to go down, then do everything you can to get people to stop stealing off the Internet.

Publishers don't charge what they do because they are trying to stick it to the public. Trust me, American anime producers do not ride around in limos and drink mimosas for breakfast.

That's the price of doing business.

Of course I can. If you can't afford it, tough luck. Maybe I want to go jet-skiing or skydiving, but I can't afford it. So I just have to get another hobby.

That's life. You can't have everything you want and not expect to work for it.

And yes, if we want prices to go down, then start buying it.

manganimefan227 06-15-2010 06:13 PM

Yeah . . .Now that I think of it, it can only help these people keep their jobs to wait to have enough money . . .I do have other hobbies, such as writing and drawing, I may not be good at the latter yet but . . .

I just can't imagine telling otakus to get off their obsessions if they don't buy it. That's why I made my comment, otakus would go crazy.

Anyways, I'll start posting this message on YouTube, one of the main culprits, and see what happens.

Some good news today:

Major Manga Scanlation Site Pulls 230 Unauthorized VIZ Media Titles

manganimefan227 06-18-2010 09:17 PM

Hey. Yay, maybe prices for manga might go down a cent or two :p

I didn't say that to seem like a pessimist, I still think that's good news, especially for Viz and their condition.

Maybe it means fewer publishers will go out of business.

I always buy anime DVD's and manga. I have so much manga, I hardly have room for it. However not every manga is licensed for US distrubution. The only scans I read are Elfen Lied and Dragon Half, if they get licnsened I will buy them, like with Black Butler. I caught some of my friends at school reading Naruto on Onemanga.com. I even asked some of my freinds in the anime club if they ever buy anime DVD's and they say no

I'm not sure how legal it is, or what effect it'll have on the industry, but it seems to me to say that piracy is harder to get rid of than it seems. Following the thread and the news on the topic it seemed to be a very serious issue, and yet the site's posted content regardless. I'm too tired to speculate or look up what that means, but it interested me nonetheless that the 'ban' on pirating manga didn't seem to last long.

All of the manga they pulled are still gone off that site. Which ones have returned?
