Well, like some people said a few pages ago, the term "to grow out of" is really a bit delicate. And relative, too. I mean, you may be old for something, but sometimes that nostalgic feeling will make you love it forever. I don't think that makes you childish or nothing like that.
And also, there are various genres of anime. I couldn't say something like, i grew out of movies, because there are various genres of movies: movies for kids, horror movies, sci-fi movies, dense and artistic movies. You just pick the one that's right for you. I think anime would be the same. Speaking for myself, I think that anime started annoying me a bit. As a kid, I used to watch a lot of anime and wasn't very fond of manga. I don't know why, but now, I read tons of manga, including childish ones (who am I fooling? specially childish ones) but no anime pleases me. For japanese TV, i go for dramas. Then again, you have all the genres to choose from. |
