Looking to learn Japanese

I'm a teenage student from New York and I'm looking to learn Japanese. I only know basic phrases, and I can't read kanji or anything like that at all... >.> But I'm a quick learner when it comes to languages

I'm a teenager from NYC, too. I'm also trying to learn Japanese. And I'm also a very quick learner ^_^.

I can read some Kanji because I have a base in Chinese, and I already know most of the Katakana characters, and will be learning the Hiragana soon.

I know most basic phrases and stuff too. If you want, we can help each other learn, give advice, etc.

Start with hiragana, then go on to katakana. Only when you're completely comfortable with the two kana systems, start learning kanji. That's the way Japanese kids learn Japanese.
