Japanese Vending Machines

Would like for people to post pictures of the most funny to the most bizarre items sold in Japanese Vending Machines.

MMM 12-22-2007 05:03 AM

I've seen some wild things. Besides beer and sake, I have seen fresh eggs, rice, milk, strange clothing items...

I would not want to try that drink.

Rogozhin 12-22-2007 05:58 AM

I've stumbled across the fresh produce VDs and the porno huts, that's about as quirky as it has ever gotten in my experience.

Does it say anywhere in the photo that the schoolgirl panties have been used?

Katchan6 12-22-2007 07:39 AM

Oo

PrincessKiki 05-26-2008 01:56 PM

I've seen a drink in vending machines in Japan called "Calpis" . It is a drink made from yoghurt, so yes, it is a liquid that comes from cows.

Probably something like V8.

ChibiCherry 05-26-2008 05:28 PM

But if they have Liquor machines and cigarette machines out on the streets can't kids by it?

clairebear 05-26-2008 05:34 PM

I asked my Japanese friend about the supposed 'schoolgirls panties' (ugh..) vending machines and he said he has never seen vending machines like that anywhere in Tokyo....but I dont know if they're sold anywhere else in Japan. But the thought of schoolgirls underwear being sold in vending machines is beyond creepy...I mean, if stuff like that was being sold in vending machines I'd feel very uncomfortable being a schoolgirl in Japan...:/

xGatck 05-26-2008 05:46 PM

i dont even want to know how they get those panties >_<''

From perverts who are in a company called "Panties For Pennies" where they get a buck for each pair of used panties they steal and the company sells them to perverts for 2 dollars.

The FINAL word on used panty vending machines in Japan. | Herro Flom Japan

No legitimate sightings of such machines since 1993. They were ruled an illegal sale under the Antiques and Second Hand goods law.

speechless....

that actually have it!! omg..
isnt it a good thing they illegalized it? ^o^v
maybe that is why panty thief are often shown in movies and animes xD

Nathan 05-26-2008 07:07 PM

Did you actually read the links, or just the first few sentences?

They have not had such things since 1993, when it was ruled illegal.

They do not HAVE them. They HAD it 15 years ago. Illegally. And it created a massive public backlash. Its only alive in rumor currently because people spread false/partial information.

The weirdest thing I saw was a vending machine for porn videos standing right next to a machine with stuffed Disney characters, like the 7 Dwarves. I just stared for a bit, amazed at the notion that someone would put those 2 machines side by side...

Rayfain 05-28-2008 03:32 PM

It makes English vending machines look very dull and boring.

You get toy vending machines (well tiny anime/cartoon/game figurines) in the UK too.

jdragon 05-30-2008 11:47 PM

the vending machines seem so interesting compared to ours in America...
also an extra reason why I want to go to Japan....
I've heard they have vending machines that play music while u wait...which wouldn't be very long, but still I want to see one! I want to ship some vending machines over from Japan, but thats not quite possible & if it was it'd probably be spendyy. I love Japan's vending machines.
