I've always wanted to go to an onsen. The whole nudity issue doesn't bother me, since everyone else is naked. The only thing I might have a problem with (in the near future) is tattoos. I plan to get a couple, when I move out of my mom's house, but I've already thought about waiting longer since onsens look down on tattoos.

I've been to a bunch of onsen many times. No one ever comments, and some poeple open up conversation. The only time I heard someone comment was by a three year old who didn't know any better and the father was mortified. People assume yheres the possibility you might know Japanese. Also, it's not a bath full of supermodels. Everyone is pretty much too skinny or too fat or too old, or whatever. Just regular folks who are generaly super polite.

A good onsen is the ultimate Japanese experience. Soaking naked in the hot water, in the middle of a forest or looking over (or up at) at a valley, with snow falling all around you. Tokkuri of sake optional.
This is my first post, yoroshiku o-negai shimasu.:vsign: |

I feel sort of "embarrased" about my body which might be partly why I hate porn and stuff. xD Maybe I`ll grow out of it someday...lol. |
I have a nice body but im kinda modest about it aslong as theirs no cameras or video cams im in! :D

The more and more I read about onsens, the more I want to experience going to one. It just sounds sooooooo therapeutic. Every time I mention onsens to the family though, they all go, "Eww, that sounds crazy" or something along the lines of this, and I pretty much go along with them, even though I'm thinking, "I want to go to one!" lol

One thing I've noticed increasingly at sentos is security camera inside the men's changing areas! (Can't comment on the women's changing area obviously)
Has anybody else noticed this? |
