Relaxation and Relieving Stress

Everybody just wants to sit back and relax after a hard day of work or school. Am I wrong?

I was wondering what do you do to wind down and relax. What are tips and products or activities you take part in?

Usually in the summer, I run on my treadmill for ten minutes to feel relaxed. I don't have as much time during school, but I like running, though I'm bad at it.

I always have to buy a complete set of body products from Bath and Body Works. Right now, I'm using this thing called "Breath Happiness". It's not sold anymore *cry*, but has this calming citrus scent to it. I used to have every Cucumber Melon scent, used it, and soon to use a combination of the different Cherry Blossoms.

I also use this shampoo brand from Wal-Mart called in(fus)ium23. Even though it's like $6 for a bottle of shampoo, conditioner, or hair treatment, it's worth spending $20 on for a set. It smells great and makes your hair pretty.

After I finish every project on my agenda, I have my aromatherapy shower, and light a candle and read my Bible. From there, I created a playlist of soothing music on my PSP to lul me to sleep.

I especially LOVE it when I get new sheets and pillow covers and crawl into bed. I'm the happiest in that state. I love sleeping, candles, fragances, etc. I feel so good.

Occasionally on the weekends, after I have done my aromatherapy fun, I take a few bucks and go to Borders and order coffee dessert. I sit, read, and write for a few hours. Sometimes I'm by myself, and others with my friends. I've made attempts to go online with my PSP, but have to pay...

The bus ride after work calms me down a lot, so I don't really need to wind down when I get home... Other times, I like to play videogames to calm me down. :mtongue:

I read, in my room without my aid, nothing can bug me :)

I usually don't get totally flustered, unless people talk at once,
but other than that i don't get very stressed :)

CarleyGee 10-07-2008 03:23 AM

I write when I'm stressed.
I lock myself up away from everyone else.

Tyrien 10-07-2008 03:23 AM

A nice glass of red wine.

I like to go up in my room with my ferret, Kirsikka Rayne, and my hamster Striker. They both usually make me laugh uncontrolably even when I don't want to smile. I'll watch something on TV or listen to music and relax on the floor with Kirsikka randomly bouncing on me ^-^
Ferrets are great for relaxation and also drive you insanly up the wall sometimes =P

When I'm stressed I like to stretch and do a warm up excercise maybe just a little of my Taekwondo stances and a bit of running, not much just about 30 minutes or an hour depends on how much I don't want to go inside. Alot of the time when I'm done running I will try to find a good tree to relax in and just listen to the sounds around me. Its getting colder now but that makes it even more relaxing to me, I like the cold. I like to spend time with my friends too speacialy since I haven't seen them in such a long time but I just tried this drink called Boba Tea and it was pretty good but I don't like the cup they give to you in. It looks a little girlish XD Hahahaha! but I think I got addicted to the grape tea and its good during a hot day.

Chill.

its an online radio station... no dj's...no ego's...just relaxing music

...its really good

Jaydelart 10-07-2008 08:35 AM

Music, Meditation and physical training, Food, Sleep, etc.
I'm very easy when it comes to relaxing... as opposed to being very sensitive. Unless you do something extremely inappropriae, almost nothing can stop me from resting.

... But I do wake very easily, which is a bit ironic.

chibichick83 10-07-2008 09:03 AM

I love to read and watch DVDs to relax and unwind after a very long and hard day at work each time :)

And I also find spending time with and/or talking to my boyfriend over the phone really helps me to chill out aswell :)

Pyro 10-07-2008 09:15 AM

Somethings I do to deal with stress are listening to clamming music, doing push ups and sit ups, or going jogging.

chibichick83 10-07-2008 09:40 AM

I also find having a nice hot bath helps me to relax and unwind a lot after a long hard day's work every other day, either with or without bubbles as I enjoy reading whilst laying back in the bath aswell :) Total chillaxation :D

KikiBunny23 10-07-2008 11:07 AM

I have nothing to relax myself, I'm always really busy. If it's not football games, then its something for drama club or babysitting

Ronin4hire 10-07-2008 11:47 AM

Chilling on here is relaxing actually.

chibichick83 10-07-2008 12:01 PM

That's true, I also second that a lot aswell :)

Posting on here at various points throughout the day on my days off work are always a nice little chillaxing treat :)

SGTOkinawa 10-07-2008 02:14 PM

PC games, First person shooters, (see sig)
Glass of wine (Already posted, but I agree)
Talking with the kids (They have it so easy, what do you think of this Lego build dad?)
Go for a walk / run, best thing, but then I have to take medications and go right to bed, my body is broken.

Hope that helps,
Peace!:)

I watch movies. It's part of my daily Uni work so I'm chilling and doing college work at the same time, which is great cause there's nothing I like more than lying on the couch while enjoying a good film :D

taro 10-07-2008 03:24 PM

Yeah, watching movies is one way of relaxation. Sometime I listen to musics; good slow ones.

clairebear 10-07-2008 10:05 PM

Sleep, or just lie in bed and listen to music. Or watch TV while eating my favourite junk food :D

CarleyGee 10-07-2008 10:13 PM

Flutes are relaxing to me : D

Resting is always nice, it refreshes you.
Or taking a hot bath with bubbles and just soaking.

Salvanas 10-07-2008 10:22 PM

I usually pick up my acoustic guitar, and just head to the forest nearby, where I climb onto a tree and just sit there playing slowly.

It helps me alot. Silence, away from everyone. No one to interrupt me.

If the forest around me wasn't so mosquito-infested, I would : D

That does sound peaceful though.

I used to have a radio that would play peaceful tracks.
One was a waterfall, it was pretty : D

Tyrien 10-07-2008 10:33 PM

Tonight I'll be having a Hot Toddy or two because I'm sick and it kicks the crap out of Neo Citran in terms of taste+effect.

I'm the opposite.
I like to sit on city streets and watch the people go by with my guitar.

They kinda treat me like a hobo though lmfao.

Hahaha, yeah. That goes along with my long nice bath.
I'd like to reform that into, a whole day dedicated to treating yourself. : D

xYinniex 10-07-2008 11:28 PM

Yupyup.
Pampering yourself with face stuff and eating chocolate.
I keep a stash in one of my cupboards.

CarleyGee 10-07-2008 11:31 PM

ha though chocolate gives you pimples, therefore canceling out the face stuff,

or vise versa : D

xYinniex 10-07-2008 11:37 PM

PSH, dark chocolate, full of antioxidents
I only ever have 4 squares. ^^

Chocolate has been scientifically proven to make you happy.

Who would've thought? : D

Nickel 10-08-2008 05:15 AM

I haven't try this yet but I've heard that peppermint tea helps with stress.

yuujirou 10-08-2008 05:20 AM

x]

meditation provides great relief and brings a cheer to your daily life

actually sitting down and taking the time to enjoy a 'proper' cup of tea is also greatly relaxing and good for the body as well

exercise relieves stress >.>''''

sleeping gives you 5-8 stress free hours o.o'''

unless you have nightmares and wet the bed... of course x]

Yuna7780 10-09-2008 02:56 AM

When I don't have time to sit back and do nothing all day, I play video games in short periods of time to relieve stress. How could I totally forget that on my list???

Also those really late nights over the weekend of cleaning my room and going to bed showered makes me so happy when I sleep and wake up. :)

I find cleaning up my room is a stress reliever and making cookies!!!

theAlphaDuck 10-09-2008 09:09 AM

AGAIN....

Chill.

i cannot begin to express how COOL this radiostation is if you wanna chill out...

please check it out....it also makes good sex music ;)

PEACE

Yuna7780 11-28-2008 07:45 PM

I was wondering if anybody has tried doing Feng-Shui in their house?

I've moved my room around four times this year and only found one version most comforting. I'm still trying to think of other methods of room comfort...

CarleyGee 11-28-2008 08:02 PM

Incense .

That stuff is relaxing, for me anyways : D
