I'm actually extremely tempted to go out and buy a pack right now with the day I've been having.

Here in my school, Freshmen kids would bring cigars and smoke it in the restroom. They are actually proud out of it.

Cigars are different that cigarettes. I know the massive amounts of anti-smoking hype have brainwashed you into thinking that anything involving smoke going into your mouth is pure satan incarnate but there are distinctions you must be aware of.
Cigars do not have nicotine in them, and are not meant to be inhaled like cigarettes. It's an acquired taste, classy among some. Why there's kids in your school who think it makes them cool though, is beyond me. |
Cigars are made from tobacco, and certainly have nicotine. You do not inhale into your lungs, but that doesn't mean they are risk-free.
Why kids would smoke cigars in the bathroom is a mystery to me. |
Those kids must be loaded, that or they're buying the cheap gas station ones like swishers sweets. In which case its not that different from a run of the mill cigarette.
But cigar's are not without risk. While a cigar smoker is significantly less likely to get lung cancer they are more likely to get mouth or throat cancer because of the tendency to hold the smoke inside the mouth to analyze the flavor. And cigar's do have nicotine, because of the massive ammount of tobacco in each cigar there is roughly a packs worth in just one cigar. The difference being that less is absorbed into your system because you dont inhale cigar smoke. |
I just ant to say this, i really have no plans to bring my straight edge beliefs here but i just cant stand it. Smoking is for losers.

A lot of people smoke no matter where you live, and yes, you can get them from vending machines in Japan. But smoking in Japan--and Asia in general--is more common with middle-aged men.
