I don't really like this version, but it's my first time hearing it.
Soo... very interesting.

Crani 12-31-2008 01:45 AM

They killed it! Dio rocked this song, they should be thrown rocks at for this piece of s@£§! Destroyed a Metal classic.

My dad always played this song when I was little.
This is the only version that should exist, it's such a classic.

I Will Never Let You Down - Caliban
Sorry If I've posted this before.

I don't know about that, I actually like there version of "Last Caress" better than the original, but this was just a bad decision, just like you would put Knopfler playing "Fuel" or "Enter Sandman".

SHAD0W 01-09-2009 05:47 PM

Just a quicky before I go.

Has anyone heard of a band called 10 Masked Men? They do heavy metal covers of silly teeny pop songs! theyre hillarious :p

CarleyGee 01-09-2009 11:52 PM

Asking for any suggestions of good political metal bands.
I cant seem to find any... >.<

LainIwakura 01-10-2009 02:12 PM

Psyclon Nine, Atari Teenage Riot, Dawn Of Ashes, CombiChrist, London After Midnight, (they're a bit on the goth side though)....Eeeeeee! So good.

THE SHOES ON MY FEET? I GOT IT! *GROWL*

HinataUchiha 01-12-2009 06:15 PM

i was recently introduced to metal and at first it scared me,or more appropriately, it startled me(my friends thought it was pretty funny:rolleyes: )
but afrter getting used to it, I just love it! i'm still wet behind the ears when it comes to whats good and whats not, all the popular bands and the ones that aren't disscussed much-so i get my music from a friend of mine. My current favorite is Disturbed ( thanx, KUNIO-san!)

Thief 01-13-2009 02:16 PM

Testament - Souls of Black

Barone1551 01-13-2009 08:25 PM

First i will say i gotta go with keaton on this one Mastodon has gotta be up there. Although i prefer Leviathan, Blood and thunder is awesome.

Then the rest:
Protest the hero
Abigail Williams
All that remains
Amon Marth
Buckethead-Cuckoo Clocks Of Hell
Devildriver- Clouds over California
Dethklok
Pelican
Job for A Cowboy
Yakuza

Not really metal but they get a special shout out, and they are still pretty hard:
The fall of Troy
Enter Shikari
Irepress

Barone1551 01-13-2009 08:29 PM

And rap really isnt that bad. Yeah the popular stuff on the radio usually sucks. But thats usually true with most music. There is some great rap out there that isnt really main stream. There is also some great stuff from the UK.

I like the american rap of the 80's like Public Enemy for example. That was the authentic rap.

You deserve a big win cake.

CarleyGee 01-14-2009 05:48 AM

Older rap, in my opinion was much more creative, and had
more personal experiences in it. Some were even political,
which of course, I would love >:]

I would say the whole band is a joke, but Lars... Is a bit out of place... But he is one of the founding members of Mettallica...

Nope, it's clearly about American Idiot. The Offspring seriously hates Green Day atm, and that song title is 'Rise and Fall'. Get the idea? The song times are very similar, the voice all over the song and hey, the solo is damn similar. And have you checked 'Hammerhead' bass solo. It's identical to one of Nirvana's songs. Why would I listen to songs which are quite the same as ones I've listened before?

Crani 01-14-2009 07:24 PM

Come as you are? Kind off, but it sounds more like a fast version of "Destroyer".

Acidreptile 01-16-2009 08:22 AM

Offspring does not need to copy anyone.

CarleyGee 01-16-2009 10:20 PM

The beginning quote is from Romeo and Juliet,
which I didn't realize until I began to study it
last week. I really have grown to like this band
Caliban, and this is their song "Destruction"
Which is a title I happen to like >:]

P.S : I'm not a big fan of the clean vocals at
times, it tends to sound a bit whiny.

Jo_Kittie 01-18-2009 07:34 PM

Yayz, a metal thread. I pretty much... uh... worship metal. o__o Look at my last.fm if you don't believe me. Also, everyone who's into thrash should totally check out Ulysses Siren.

Crani 01-18-2009 07:54 PM

Has anybody listened to the new Slayer single?

It's good, not a future classic, but still good.

ThuMpeR 01-18-2009 09:25 PM

^ gotta listen to that. It's gotta take me a while for the vid to load for me = dial-up.

It's been some time since I posted in here. Has someone mentioned Iced Earth or Fear Factory yet? I got into both of them back in high school, about 9 years ago, I believe. It was after listening to Iced Earth's "Alive in Athens" live album, and Fear Factory's "Obsolete", that I became a fan.

Metalcore, but don't pay attention to "sub-genre's".
As you'll see a few pages back, I listed every single one of them.
Metal is metal, and there's different kinds.
