How to say...
Hello there, may be this is not the best section or may be this is not the best forum to expose my doubt but I hope you are going to help me.
I was watching Kill Bill volume 1 and I noticed a dialogue between the main character and Gogo, a japanese girl. There are english subtitles while they speak in japanese and I would like to know how to say a sentence in japanese. It's "Our reputation precedes us" Now, I know there is a sort of "western japanese writing" in english letters. May you give me this translation? Thanks :) :ywave: |
Hey i like that movie, i just watch it yesterday, but
to tell you the truth, i still suck at speaking Japanese. But if i knew i would tell you. But Im still stuck at a point. >.<" So good luck! |
When they translate Japanese to subtitles it is often not a direct translation.
Rather they use English which would feel more natural but still capture the emotion of what is saying and/or what is trying to be conveyed to the audience. |
Thanks. Then I should make you listen the dialogue.
I found it on Youtube: YouTube - Go Go Yubari Love The sentence I want to know is at 0:26 |
Sorry...
All I understood was ".......mitaidane" Which I've learnt means "It seems........ " or "looks like" "resembles" when followed by a verb of some sort. There are people on here more proficient than me in Japanese so you should have an answer. |
Thank you very much anyway ;)
