Good question.

I say screw that, I really like stuff from China. I wish people would stop picking on them and just worry about their own problems.

Do you feel same way about children who were physically tortured by their parents?

When innocent defenseless animals are tortured to death, it is business of civilized people with clear conscience and not speaking against brutality, you are indirectly supporting barbarity.

i never said how i personally felt about animal abuse, i myself love animals. abuse to dogs make me sad when i see it, as i always imagine that it could have been my own dog.
i was simply stating that different people have a different concept in animal abuse and what is right. we cannot simply change their mindset about animal abuse because we as americans love them and protect them.
don't blindly assume that i support animal abuse, do not blindly assume that i support child abuse. do not pick a fight with me by reading in between the lines. why would you even assume such nonsense?

Take a look at this:

I got it from unmadeinchina.org.

How can you take a site with a picture like that seriously? Of course America wants a boycott of Chinese products because they're being so quickly overtaken in the world... I just never would have guessed it could be written so clearly.

Chinese products are not really inferior; they're usually priced so you get what you pay for. The only stupidity is the morons who buy something dirt cheap and then try and compare it with an expensive Japanese product and try to say it's inferior...

In the end, a lot of Asians treat animals like shit. I don't think it is a different culture, I think it is a lack of intelligence. People who do it are usually pretty stupid and shallow.

About the worst thing I've seen in Thailand was frogs skinned alive and put on a market bench for sale whilst skinned and still alive. But the people doing it and buying them were so stupid they were almost close to retarded. There really isn't much you can do to "cure" stupidity, but I fail to see how the OP sinking to their own level is really going to fix anything.

You can't really point out one country in the world that is cruel to animals. There are people in every country that are. In America, we may not eat some of these animals, but there are a lot of people that treat them very badly. Don't generalize countries by the actions of a few.

Short but very true... heck even Britain has RSPCA, and they're very busy which only tell me that there is a lot of animal cruelty in Britain... Rather than blaiming "China", I think you should blame the minority and then just suggest having a foundation like RSPCA

Please dont encourage the OP for fear of another thread being opened. The best way is to be informed about what products are bad and what products are good and safe. You get what you pay for if you buy something at a cheap price dont expect it to last for 100 years the quality is of course is going to inferior and probably not as safe as say a current Japanese product.

I try to do a healthy balance of Chinese made products and American products but the fact is America has outsourced its labor and China is currently dominated by Cheap labor. Am I pissed that this has happened of course but that discussion is for another time.

Bottom line buy Chinese products if you want they may be safe they may not be safe do the research first. If you dont want to buy Chinese products and pay a higher price for quality then so be it i sometimes do this if i can afford it. It does not make the China a bad country their Q/C needs some work and their corruption needs to be brought under control. Im not saying i like all Chinese products and im not saying i hate them all some can very good but things like the baby forumla scandle sickened me because these were babies and they died for another persons greed (hence my comment about corruption)

Like it or not their economy is growing at a very face pace and it will continue to climb. However if they dont manage their infenstructure wisely and spend their surplus wisely it will come crumbling down. No one stays on top forever not American not Japan and nor will the Chinese let us not forget India is becoming a powerhouse in its own right.

Here in Japan a pair of Chinese made New Balance shoes is about $50, a pair of US made New Balance shoes is $200. I happily spent the $200. I would rather my money went to pay American workers who work 40 hours a week for $10 an hour rather than to pay Chinese workers who get 10 cents an hour and work 70 hours a week.

I don't avoid Chinese products because of cruelty to dogs or people, I buy things made in my country because it is the right thing to do. The money I spend on American (or Japanese, since I now live in Japan) products goes to my neighbors, and they use that money to buy goods and services which myself and other neighbors may provide.

Anyone who complains about America outsourcing jobs to other countries while wearing Nike shoes made in China should keep his hypocritical mouth shut.

Out all the post in here I respected Sangetsu's post the most it was honest and straightforward this is how he feels and he acts and buys accordingly.
