Does anybody know this character? - 07-06-2009, 06:56 AM

Featured in the video game Red Alert 3, I've seen it before but I don't know it's origin or what it means/represents. Anyone know it's history?

That's two tips of Japanese tridents (three prong spear) merged together. Not a common weapon in Classical Japanese time.

click to see seal script 木

ちなみに、Japanese Trident is a variety of maple.

I'm not saying that the diagram is definitely that of 木, just saying that I believe it to be the more likely option.
