Love in 2-D?
Phenomenon - Love in 2-D - NYTimes.com
News - Petition to Marry a Manga Character? Depressing, to say the best. Honestly I'm very much taken back by such a life style. This is not real life, and I could not know how they keep themselves afloat in such a environment. Does this relate to one of the underlining problems that such a culture has? Discuss. |

I remember reading about this a while ago. I think that's just sad and pathetic. Some may disagree, but I don't think it's possible to actually fall in love with a character on a piece of paper. Obsession, perhaps? Just like there's a male who bought a bunch of "love dolls" in Japan and uses those as his lovers because they'll never "cheat" on him. |
