Just being alive makes me happy...

I've been through some pretty horrible crap but that's in my past and I think it makes me stronger...if I hadn't gone through it and survived I wouldn't be the person I am today. And I'm one uping the a** by going to college and shooting ahead of him in education, and I have my life in order and my head on straight while he's almost 25 and still trying to figure things out. Coldly that makes me extra happy ;)

Being a Survivor makes me happy.

People/Humans will never stop wanting. No matter how perfect/Satisfied you think you are there is always a flaw.

I beg to differ.
Look into Buddhism.

Eeeeeeeemooooooo! :D

@alanX: You have the right idea, man. I've been practicing Buddhism (in my own little way; I ain't exactly a monk!) for about 8 years now, and it definitely has helped me stay more positive than I would otherwise. It's all about mindfulness. Being mindful REALLY helps things!

But to answer the OP... I'll be HAPPY when I get a JOB. :crykitty:

Do you follow the Eightfold Path? This will get you in the right mindset, which is the basis for meditation. Meditation leads to Enlightenment, which should bring true happiness.

And yes, you're absolutely right.

Yeah, I do when I can, but I'm more focused on mindfulness. I don't really have time these days to sit down for half an hour and do mindfulness meditation, but I try to be mindful in my daily activities. It sure as heck helps when I'm upset.

The other day I got turned down for a job I've been interviewing and working hard to get for a month. For a really bad reason, too. Of course at first I was really upset, but I soon said to myself,

"Is being upset going to get me the job?"
No.
"Is being upset going to make me feel better?"
No.

So I immediately stopped being upset.

It was cool. XD

That doesn't mean you can't be truly happy.
happiness isn't the same as being satisfied, imo.
