I wouldn't say that, adults just have a different way of being unappreciative, ignorance is natural everything else follows.

easy, stupid parents, especially here in the U.S.when the parents are spoiled brats themselves, what do you expect? and it's not just teens,i see it in children of all ages. i still see some positive things though.

i've seen it in middle school/high school/college. for every person with manners, there will be 2 people that lack them. sometimes they may not be aware that they are being rude. they call it being "real".

I can understand that in some occasions, Sometimes people should hear the truth in a bitter sarcastic way, They shouldn't see it as rude then but a simple point - It was something they needed to know and is meant to get the person who they were being "real" to feel a need to change hopefully.

To summarize, being "real" is just teen honesty and teen wisdom.

reihiino 02-12-2010 05:24 AM

there is a difference between "real" and just plain rude. if you never experienced that then i really dont know what else to tell you...
...and the bitter sarcastic way gets old the minute it comes out their mouths.

Well most simply the rude teenagers lack respect. Thats probably why their so rude. They also tend not to care about others. maybe it stems from how certain parents raise their kids not all parents just some. When i was growing up I was told, taught to respect my elders and other people aswell, I would get diciplined if i didn't, maybe its lack of dicipline.

but maybe that is a good thing.
absentminded blind following of orders from others that you are expected to respect is useless. you must question their authority. why do elders and your parents get your respect right off the bat?... are they just never wrong about anything? all people need to gain my respect.. it is not handed out.

I guess in a way it could be, but walking around being rude towards everyone isn't. I think elders earn respect, by being wiser than the youngins who think they know everything. I give my parents the utmost respect because they deserve it for raising me in a good, loving way. If your parents get your respect who in your life will. They raised you and should be treated as so. Now if your parents weren't good parents never cared for you and didn't teach you anything i can see where your loss of respect may come in and why you maybe rude to them.

That is fine if you know who to respect and who not to.

Children should respect their parents and respect their elders.

This is Japan Forum, so I will assume the Japanese standard is respected.

If you are supporting yourself and do not need help from your parents to get day-to-day, then you can disrespect your parents.

But as long as you are living under their roof, you are stuck. Anything else is disrespect.

Age doesn't make any difference. The only two thing that do matter are experience and ability to think. Still youth need to respect their parents, just becouse they give you a starting point to achive your dream.
Well, i respect my parents also, but i am in some way rude/cold, even though they don't like it. ( My reason: i like to tell actuall truth to people in face. That is if i see a classmate that doesn't have any good abilities i will never cooperate with him/her and will tell what they lack. )
