Japan's New Two-Party System

TWO-HEADED MONSTER
Beware Japan's New Political Beast

by C.B.Liddell

Japan can now wipe the political dribble from its chin and step into its own freshly pressed and creased pair of democratic long pants. It may even be allowed to stay out late and fill the occasional pipe. In other words, the nation has finally grown up. That seems to be the international consensus following the victory of the Democratic Party of Japan in last month’s elections.

"Two-party" systems are overrated. They tend to be two sides of the same coin. One party systems are more amenable.

Governemnt's that work realiably are the most dangerous, because they work reliably. Strange I know, but check history and see what the governments that actually worked tended to do.

why not just have a monarchy again. Hell at least you knew who to blame and if he/she does a poor job just revolt execute said leader and let the next sucker have a go at it. 1 party 2 party 3 party FAIL. Im sorry but no one has gotten it right and no one will. Politics is a Cancer that doesn't really kill you but makes you sick very frequently but in a strange twist of fate you need it this particular cancer keeps some of your bodily functions running properly.

I wont say politicians never keep promises but its impossible for one person to do so much. I would not say stop believing in whatever political system you have, but one must be realistic about the problems that plague countries today. All im saying is remember that every system is flawed nothing is perfect it takes work to iron out the wrinkles and time lots and lots of time.

Who's to Blame?

The article explains why 2-party systems are bad. But the voters are not innocent either. They are as much to blame as the politicians.
