Coming to you from: San Antonio First Breath: 4/15/1993 intentions and whatnot: randomly found the site and was like ok i'll check it out since i'm into japanese culture and manga why do you want to go to japan: a few years ago my friend got me into manga and anime so ever since then i've been really interested in japanese culture |
Name: D
First breath: I'm legal ladies, I'm legal. Intentions and whatnot: I had originally planned on joining this site to seek advice before my move to Tokyo next month, but slaying weaboos has been more fun. Why do you want to go to Japan?: Everything I've learned about Japan has been a crash course in the last year. I have no desire for anime/manga and that kind of crap, and I'm not going to act like I have a deep passion for the culture. I only chose to go to Japan for networking purposes, and it pretty much came down to what I knew more about between China and Japan. Japan won a decisive victory with "sushi" and "karate." Other: I actually feel kind of bad (not really) because 99% of you guys love Japanese stuff but will never even come to Japan, yet I'm here for the hell of it. |

Hello everyone!
Name: Tonia First breath: August, 2, 1985 (yes I'm old :) ) Coming to you from: Greece Why do you want to go to Japan: Well, I have many reasons, one of them is that I'd like to see the country side of Japan, landscapes, architecture etc.. I love nature much..! It's a pleasure to be here with you. :) |
Name: Just call me Arstan.
First breath: Summer of '88. Coming to you from: Canada Intentions: Not a lot else besides finding one or two folks living over there in the Land of the Rising Sun as friends, and to swap knowledge of things. Bonus points for living in or around Kawasaki. Why do you want to go to Japan?: I have minimal interest in anime, manga, pop music and so forth. However, I recently started learning Sugino-style Katori Shinto Ryu - it has become something I want to learn to the fullest. I also like Japanese gardens, and am interested in the sights to be seen too in Japan. |
Its me!
Name: Tina
Coming to you from: Philippines First Breath: Sept 27 Intentions and whatnot: I like to talk about Japan. Why do you want to go to Japan: I want to live and work in Japan. I am kooking for every opportunity. I think that it is where I found my peace. It calms me and I cannot find a place like it. Its just that even if I am not a true blooded Japanese I was meant to be there. It just pulls me right into its bosom. |

Coming to you from: The Netherlands First Breath: June 10, 1970 Intentions and whatnot: On a fine day many many years ago I read a comic about Yoko Tsuno, a famous Japanese comic character here in The Netherlands and Belgium (and possibly other countries). Immediately fell in love with her :-) Besides that, every time I encountered some kind of technical manual with multiple languages, I couldn't help but stare amazed at all those tiny but fascinating Japanese characters. How long would it take to master them? But Japan (or at least, Tokyo) came into my heart and became nr. 1 on my list of places I want to go is the song 'Tokyo' by 10CC. Immediately followed by the beautiful movie "Departures". Why do you want to go to Japan: Japan is about electronics and I have a background in electronics. Japan is about computers and I work in the IT industry. Japan is all about crowded places and sometimes I am in the mood for that. Japan is mostly about silence and precious beauty and I love them both. I think I have fallen in love with Japan without ever having seen it in real life. But that is about to change... |

First Name according to ID card: Flavien
Last seen in: France, near Paris surrounded by eight dogs First Breath: 13 May 1988, or so my mother says... Here Because: I saw the lights on... Or perhaps 'cause I'm planning to go to Japan next year to study the language ? Here to find some advices, help, exchange partners, party partners, friends. I want to learn more about the culture putting aside all the mangas/anime stuff. About Me: Actually I'm registered since several days (hmm... weeks... months ?) but I'm very shy. Now here I am and I don't regret it... yet. I love travelling, after being in China for two months, I'm working here in France to pay my trip to Tokyo. I hope I'll earn enough to stay 6 months ! I like studying even if college was so boring I decided to quit. I'm studying at home now, by myself most of the time. I learn Japanese thanks to TV shows, internet, songs and a pretty useful video game called "My Japanese coach". It really helped me learn Hiragana and Katakana. So if you try to make fun of me, I will know. (Well, that's not true... I will READ but I might not UNDERSTAND... I think I'll have to memorize a whole dictionnary some day...) That should be enough for a first post. If it's not, just ask. Nice being here anyway ^^ |

Name: Nathan
Coming to you from: Canada First Breath: December 18 1988 Intentions and whatnot: Hmmmmm, intentions eh? I have always wanted to learn how to speak Japanese and learn more about the culture. Recently I have been addicted to a certain jrock/pop song? i think would be the correct title for it, its visual kei too(if the youtube tags are correct), and that kind of pushed me to go searching for forums where I could meet people like me, and maybe get some help on my long journey of how to speak the language :D and this site seemed to be filled with help and friendly people Why do you want to go to japan: I have always been fascinated with getting out of my element and going somewhere new. Seeing the same places over and over again for 21 years kinda gets old -.- and seeing big cities and such on TV and other places, like japan, just sorta wake the adventurous side of me, and of course the whole being into "anime, and Japanese music" etc etc, helps xP |
China - from Canada - 21 years old - Love Japan. Want to explore the land of the rising sun.:)
|
Welcome!! I hope you get there!!
|

coming to you from: new york first breath: july 25th, 19-- intentions and what not: i want to expand my japanese music knowledge as well as learn more about japanese fashion (particularly j-rock). plus, it'd be cool to interact with the people in the forums, they probably have a lot of things in common with me. also, i like debating/discussing things so this should be interesting. i'm a forum junkie, i'm constantly joining forums (and then disappearing from them). >n> why do you want to go to japan: i've already been to japan actually. i wouldn't mind going again but that's not really why i joined this site. XD |
Plenty to disappear . . .XD Hope ya don't!!

Coming to you from: Canada First breath: October 18th Intentions and whatnot: To learn the Japanese language since im going there next year in the spring. And im a little behind in learning the language. I also want to meet new people that live there, or anywhere actually. Why do you want to go to japan: To be honest, the cherry blossoms is the one thing i wanna see most. But also the temples and just all the culture. Im not really interested in all the new areas of Japan as much as i am interested in the old areas. |

Name: Michael
Coming to you from: The Netherlands First Breath: 21st April 1989 Been coming to these forums for a while now and figured it'd be a good time to join. I'm part English (dad's side) and part Dutch. I've always been interested in languages other than English/Dutch and Japanese seemed the most appealing to me. My dad is living in China with his current wife and as interesting as that language is it's not for me. Traveling has always been a hobby and as Japan is next on the list, I'll be starting private lessons soon from a native Japanese teacher 4 days a week. Joined the forums to possibly get information on interesting locations/cities etc. and some random chats perhaps. Seems the introduction post got out of hand again, I always end up writing more than I originally had in mind :o |
Welcome!! Best wishes on your Japanese!! My best advice is that Akihabara, is Otaku Paradise, if you ever get into anime, go there!!
(So YOU'RE the person who put those thoughts in my head . . .darn you!!) |
