Not sure what you are getting at.

Another thread proving amazingly popular

I also left, but couldn't resists coming back. Actually, this forum can be distarcting form important tasks:)

Actually, I reccommended that Nagoyankee should be appointed/offered moderator a long time ago on the Moderator thread. My post was deleted:confused:

Either way, hopefully Nagoyankee will read between the lines and return to continue his amazing Japanese cultural support which has helped so many with on this forum.

I don't get the reason why he should be made a moderator.

Because his posts are always accurate, he responds with full clarity and assistance, he states exact points, and he doesn't SPAM!

None of us here have the power to make anybody a moderator, so the point is a bit moot.

No, but we have the power to recommend as a majority group, do we not?

Ignoring the trolls, obviously most of us would be in favour.

In theory, I suppose, though I don't think the powers that be are particularly listening.

But ignoring the trolls should go without saying.

 I don't agree! Granted the dude is a valuable member to the forum, but he's way too quick to judge sometimes. I wouldn't want a mod that judges too quickly!

How does that makes you eligible for being a moderator. Like noodle said, that guy is really quick at judging people. Miyavi did the same, even though she was more extreme and look where she went. I wouldn't add more mods. We got enough. Just because you think highly of someone he's not qualified to become a mod.

So people who have different opinions than you are trolls, huh?

I see your point now and had noticed some pretty fast judging.

I guess his major accuracy and clarity lied in the language thread.

What do I know:p

But then again, imagine if "WhoIsDaffy" succeeded:eek:

Tenchu 12-30-2009 12:30 PM

I agree. He's got his language skills sorted, but he's not able to see from different angles, as some others are, and would make a fairly biased mod, regardless he's a great person.

Most people on this forum don't contribute anything except their opinion; Nagoyankee actually contributed to the language section and helped a lot of us in immeasurable ways. It is a big deal that he has left because for every 100 users here there is only 1 native Japanese speaker, and an even smaller amount of native speakers who can also fluently speak and explain things in English.

I am not saying he didn't help.

He did. Fair enough.

But, it's still a forum. It's like that this is life to them. Like, if a person leaves, then you won't see them again. Nothing of the sort.

Stop making a huge deal out of something that really, in the long run, wouldn't matter.

Aota 12-30-2009 06:16 PM

I'm ALL for voting Nagoyankee to the language section.
Is the thread with the argument still open? I haven't been here for a while. Could someone maybe give me an update?

It was getting out of hand so MMM closed it.

MissMisa 12-31-2009 09:54 AM

Uh, not mod discussions again.

Anyway, I think it's a great shame if Nagoyankee has indeed left for good. He was an asset to the language section, and he wasn't a moderator so if he wanted to have his own opinions, then why not?
