Research - Okinawan Term 'kakai'.

I checked with friends who practice Tai Chi and Wing Tsun, none of them heard of anything close to Kakie or 力手元. I also asked one of my friend who does the Hung style kung fu and one that does Choi Li Fu, same thing, they have never heard of such thing. Sorry

What we are probably looking at is an Okinawan transliteration of a Hokkien term, that would sound very different in Putonghua (Manderin).

I am now trying to find the Hokkien pronounciation for these three Chinese characters. I await developments and will report any findings.

Thank you Godwine - good point! Yes - then we would have:

Power Hand Origin

Which might well be transmitting the meaning in English as the 'origination of powerful hands'.
