I was getting ready for work when i got a phone call from my a friend Joe in Brooklyn who asked if i was watching and i said watching what? he said turn on the tv. I turned on the tv just in time to see the 2nd plane hit the tower and thats when Joe said Aliza and Alex were at work that day. Needless to say i never heard from my friends again nor a family friend who happen to be a firefighter which i didnt learn about till 2 weeks later
My initial feelings were of sadness followed by anger and a sense of loss that i was not able to comprehend. ![]() |

those firefighters had so much courage-- they were going INTO the burning towers to rescue those who were trapped, everyone else was pouring out along with the blinding and suffocating smoke.
They were true hero's. And I too am sorry to know about your friend/s It was such a shock to see what was happening and so hard to believe it was REAL To see figures throwing themselves from the flaming towers-----------!!!!. |

As for my blatant insensitive remark. Ronin explained it perfectly. It's just first thing that popped out of my mouth after seeing a plane crash into a building in real life. But I wouldn't say it's due to TV and video game influence. Well excuse me for not being glued to the TV watching same few minute replays about a plane getting crashed for 8 hours! |

I definitely would have reacted the same way had it been an attack on London, Tokyo, Berlin, Moscow, Paris, or what have you. Innocent lives being lost to meaningless violence and religious zealotry is horrible. It doesn't matter the brand of human, we're all the same.

Well of course I can make a difference. What do you mean by consciousness. Im just saying that I would have been dependent on movies, etc. The first initial, gut reaction to 9-11 was. OMG all the people inside! or Damn! machine just crashed into the building and carried the boy away
