What other Asian talk about Japan & Whites.
I noticed that some of the posters here where clueless on how other Asian races view varies issues concerning Japan and foreigners(.mostly about whites).
I wanted to bring examples of some opinions that other Asians think/talk about. Here are a couple of threads. Is Japan a potential threat? - Asia Finest Discussion Forum Do you think Japan apologized enough?? - Asia Finest Discussion Forum what is wrong with east asian race - Asia Finest Discussion Forum How do you feel about Weeaboos and Wapanese people? - Asia Finest Discussion Forum You might agree with some of it, you might disagree. Point is, the different Asian countries form their own ideas on whats going on. I can't capture all the opinions of all Asians in a few threads, but if this wets your appetite, it's not hard to find more info. |
I'm an Asian Chinese, but my take on this is if Japanese culture is your thing, nothing anyone else says should even remotely dampen that spirit. While it is undeniable that other Asians may be tilted toward opposing bigotry for said issues, what matters is that everyone understands that and speaks with due respect, exchanging pointers with their personal cliques, without undermining the rest of the world. I think that applies to those "other Asians", as well. It's all about fairness and being empirically logical, not stereotypical.

I only skim read it...
But they were some pretty retarded discussions. |
@CoolNard
In discussion here. I noticed some posters unaware of Ideas and Attitudes that existed in Asian countries. Japan is not isolated by great distances of water like Hawaii. Japan is right there in the thick of Asia. I think to discuss political/international issues concerning Japan, It is important to understand what Japans neighbors think and how Japan has to deal with them too. Those post are all real, just like the posts here are real. Besides, this is a Japanese forum. Negative or positive, it's real and should be made aware of. @Ronin4Hire retarded -yes many. But it's for real. Spending some time on that site. one finds a good snapshot of the different opinions and attitudes from each Asian nation. Each country has people for and against different issues but there are overall national trends also. like Koreans wan revenge against Japan. China feels U.S. is challenging them. etc... |
Yeah fair enough...
But I can show you a bunch of white people or black people that think the same way. I mean... these sorts of views are out there and there is no doubt about it.. but it doesn't mean they represent the majority. I'm aware of the high nationalist sentiment in Korea. I'm aware of the propaganda of the Chinese against the Japanese. I guess what I'm saying is that as shocking as some of these viewpoints you've shown us are... I don't think my opinion on anything has changed. That's just my position on it. |
^ I used to think that too the internet crowd is a skewed crowd. The real world majority is different.
Id say the trolls spend a disproportionate time on the internet and they get disproportionate representation. but expect for them, these forums are mostly people like you and me. Like people in a bar drinking, we say more than usual when drunk, but we are the same person next day at work. I think we say things on the internet that we would not say to our friends or coworkers, But it's all coming from normal people. I think the internet is the voices of the majority, We just don't speak this way in real life(Thank God). |

Though I prefer to think about the many reasonable people out there than focus on the many people that aren't reasonable. Asian or otherwise. After all.. the only way we can truly know who is in the majority is if we spied on every single person and learnt what they said behind closed doors. It's less stressful for one thing :) |

I'm other Asian, and, although I also only skim read most of the threads, I can say that there was no lack of idiotic remarks. Presuming some of them were even from other Asians, they don't necessarily reflect my opinions at all. On another note, this is a Japan forum. I wouldn't expect much potential for a balanced discussion regarding Japan versus Korea, China or America -- or any other country, for that matter... honestly. Though, I would hope for one. |

One point I like to point out, Though I'm biased towards Japan. In the big picture, Japan is just another Asian country bickering amongst it's neighbors. I learned that other Asian probably don't see things like I as a Japanese person does. Nor, should I assume my points of view are better than my Asian brothers. Basically, something like that is what I wanted people to get/become aware of from this thread. You might agree with some of the stuff, you might disagree with some of the stuff, but that's not going to change the minds of the varies Asian groups. also, not everyone in a country agrees with a particular issue. you have to spend time finding out what other people from Asian nations feel and think. This is important when discussing Japan and Asia. |

Otherwise, you've said a lot of things I already agree with. |
All of the discussions you pulled were from AsiasFinest where, as an active member, I am well aware of the prejudicial, bigoted, distorted, hateful, and generally obnoxious posts of various nationalities of trolls (both real and false) that are far more common there than rational discussion.
I also notice you were very selective in your examples. You pulled only the worst of the threads that would back your premises and garner attention, but would still pass the censorship on JF. There are more than a few civil discussions of these same differences which you failed to include, either by intent or ineptitude. Your methods wreak of a troll using the guise of rational discourse to bait a new audience for your own personal diatribe. I hope my instincts are wrong in this case, but that remains to be seen. |

Jchat is particularly vicious, you should know that. This post was about other Asians talking about Japanese. Most of the post in Jchat are trolling threads, I just took the top few. Go check if I reordered the post. It's been several days so they shifted some, but I pulled them in order. I left out the genetics discussion(two scientific types talking to each other) and the spam, that's all, everything else was the first few in order they appeared. I don't need to cherry pick my data from AF. The place speaks for itself. It's not trolling to make aware to people what others are saying. Anyone who can navigate this site can navigate around AF from the links I provided. In addition I encouraged people to look around and find out for themselves what other Asians think because a handful of threads can not represent all opinions. Anyone interested can go to AF Jchat and check out the posts for themselves. Don't listen to me or him, just go there and find out for yourself. |
These are not discussions that would be allowed to flourish on JF, so I am not sure there is any point of posting links to them here.
If Jchat is that viscous, then why bring that hatred here? Your point is taken, and now the thread is closed. |
