Do you ever wish you were Japanese?

As the title says; do you ever wish you were Japanese?
As for me, yes, all too often I do, especially after watching a j-drama.

No, never.

Nope. I'm happy with being American, even here I'm considered weird, in Japan, compared many, I'd be ordinary O.o

What about you. Ever been to Japan even on a holiday? Just interested because obviously wanting to be something you're not suggests a whole lot of things. Most importantly it suggests you are currently unhappy with your own life which is a shame. But I have to wonder how could you want to be Japanese if you have never been here, never lived here? What on earth do you think you can really know about what's it's like to be Japanese if you've never been here?

I've lived now nearly 7 years in Hokkaido and I wouldn't mind one bit having Japanese citizenship. I would happily give up my Australian citizenship to get it. But I wouldn't actually want to be Japanese. I like myself way too much to ever want to be something other than I currently am! :mtongue:
