How can you be so sure about Japan or anywhere else that you haven't been.

not all young people are students are they? or do you mean school children.

I try to chat to all generations but mostly young people go around in groups. I think that individually they are good to talk with.

There should be more integration between thegenerations and for older people not to hold prejudices against the young. we all started life in the womb. Older generations have been through a lot over the years.

Its a two way thing really.

But I know that good manners seem to have floated out of the door. we all need to have good manners towards one another-- simple "excuse me" or thankyou can go a long way.


I wonder what your mother thinks of the locality you are in.

Maybe that was it. I was with a mate & was wearing a hoodie. loool. I tend to use the categories children, then young people, then adults & finally old folk. So, I mean people of around 13-22ish. I have respect for all people, but depending on my mood or their actions or a combo of the 2, that respect will sometimes be dwindling. My mum knows exactly how I feel the way I keep going on about the country. lol. Old folk in general don't annoy me. It's those old folk that think us young people should respect them, no matter what. I think its funny though, how car insurance, for example, is so expensive for young people, yet its old people that drive the wrong way down one way streets & drive their car into sea.

Unless you're saying that those men that don't like to fight have faulty genes or are not human.

well car insurance is high for young drivers because all too often they drive rather dangerously. loving speed especially.

My son wanted to drive 100 miles a hour whenhe first passed his test!! wanting to show off to his mates. Some older people can be a hazard especially when their reactions are slower or maybe their eyesight is not as good as it should be. I have had friends who still drove when they had cataracts-- one man actually killed aman that he hadn't seen.


I have to go to the doctor next week to assess my fitness to drive.


The roads are dangerous and drivers need to be really alert. I hate it when I see drivers with mobile phones glued to their ears. I notice many mothers on the phone after dropping their kids at school.

I wonder if there are strict rules in Japan about using mobiles when driving.

I am an American who is interested and likes (perhaps loves) the Japanese culture who went to school for Computer Animation and loves anime and who is going to Japan in a month:

The ONLY reason other cultures enjoy Japanese culture is because they lost the war.

Check out "Unit 731" and you'll see the atrocities Japan did against all others who were not Japanese including but not limited too: Maiming, amputation, infecting with STDs and various diseases for study, freezing parts of victims body and watching for study purposes, blowing up parts of body and seeing how long it takes for infection to set in...and ALL were dissected alive without anesthesia before being put to death upon which they were sent to the assembly-like ovens to be cremated (and yes..this is not Germany I am talking about but Japan.)

It's a lovely country with an intriguing culture but like every other culture it has had it's rotten times

I believe the Japanese are very good courteous drivers, but you need to know a few tips to get on well with driving in Japan. Good luck at the doctors btw

Now I know you haven't been to Japan but Japanese good and courteous drivers? You really haven't got any idea whatsoever what it's really like here. You've made up a complete fantasy world that you call Japan but it doesn't come close to reality.

Its strange how our minds can conjure up such fantasies isn't it.


perhaps someone would really get a culture shock when they arrive. Japanese surely are human beings like the rest of us.

Better drivers than here (in Scotland), then. The amount of folks driving poorly. I'm not surprised my dad's always on about "What's this d*** up to?" lol
