ME-- I'll be here as usual-- although seeing family on Christmas day?

I'll be staying here in Japan, probably visiting my gf's parents' house on new years day to eat osechi and ozoni etc, maybe watch the highlights of that crazy marathon and play the lamest board game in history with her grandparents ><

On new years eve maybe hitting Kyoto, Kawaramachi, that place is always good for a new years eve party!

I'm staying here in Japan. I plan on spending a bit of my summer back in the States so I don't really feel the need to go home now as I've only been living here for like 4 months.
I feel like I'm going to have a really quiet Christmas, but New Years should be more hopping as I'm just going to find a popular bar and party there.

I will be headed for the Chicago suburbs to spend the X-mas holidays with my brother and New Year's Eve with my mother in downtown Chicago.... Quiet family times are best....

I'll be going to my parents' place and have them cook for me. The best thing about holidays is I get to eat without having to cook cause someone else does it for me. So yeah, healthy dose of family vacation.

But hey, I deserve to have some cooking done every once in a while. I cook lunch and dinner every day (that kinda makes me a housewife lol) and it's the one thing I hate about living by myself, so it's okay to have my mom and DAD cook for me, just like it's ok to spend New Year's kicking your girlfriend's granny's butt at some kiddie game, you manly man, you :mtongue:

what about the game "GO"? any experience playing that.

Its grand to eat without all the preparation.

We always used to play games like charades or maybe BLOCKBUSTER QUIZZES. CLUEDO Was always popular.


Not any more though-- the youngsters are too busy with their latest tecno gadgets to be interested in old fashioned board games.LOL

I believe that NEW YEAR is special for the Japanese-- with much exchanging of GIFTS?
