i bought a video camera and on the box it said this product may cause cancer and birth defects wash hands. Should i be worried?

I can't imagine how using a video camera would give you cancer. Worry not. You'll be fine.

I have heard of these warning messages being posted on video cameras with that reads:

'WARNING: Handling this product may expose you to chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling.'

Certain Nikon products supposedly expose you to lead..

I would heed the warning and return the product.

Sounds like you got screwed. Interesting way of marketing products tho.. maybe soon the US will be attacked by extremists trying to make all New Yorkers touch a Nikon and not wash their hands..
