Haha, true that, brother.
I wonder how the Japanese will perceive this one.
Not great, I'm sure.

If I saw a Japanese dude in Canada with a map of Canada tattooed on his arm, I'd assume he lost his virginity there or had some kind of mania (like a weird one).

You should outline the prefectures in another color as you visit them, aim to visit them all.. at least make something good out of it ;)

What's up with the blurries around the edges?

I have a tattoo and have been to many onsens throughout Hokkaido and have never had a problem. Never heard of anyone up here with tatts ever having a problem. In fact been to quite a few onsens where there were yakuza who were covered in tatts from the neck down. Not sure if it's just in Hokkaido but the whole tatt thing in onsens just doesn't seem to be much of an issue up here.

I went to a sento a few years ago in eastern Osaka and there were like a half dozen yakuza with full jackets there. I asked my girlfriend about it and she said that some neighborhoods are very yakuza-friendly, or yakuza-owned, depending on how you look at it, and in those places it's whatev'. She said a lot of buraku areas tend to be that way. Perhaps that was your experience, or maybe Hokkaido is different from mainland in that respect...

I bet it's only a matter of time until the usual guys come in "Oh my God you're such a weaboo you aren't gonna have one good time in Japan ever it's not what you think it is halt I am saving your life you won't have a girlfriend you won't have a job you won't have anything it'll be just terrible it'll be terrorland".

On a lighter note, not bad. That's quite good for what it is. Each to their own. I wouldn't have a tattoo personally. It hurts.

You could really have some fun with that tattoo, get each place filled in as you visit each area, from a tattoo artisit in that reigion. Points for originality.
