NFL fans? - 04-22-2011, 07:47 PM

Anybody here into American football (it feels weird calling it that, but I realize that this is a sport only one or two countries really care about)?

What's your team? Mine's the Rams. Don't laugh; we have some tools in the shed now and can definitely score a playoff spot this year.

To any NFL fanatics in Japan or anywhere overseas: are you able to watch games there? If not, how do you cope?

I'm an Arizona cardinal fan, have been since the 70's. I'm just glad they made it to the Superbowl before the Cubs made it to the World Series.

It's all about NCAA with me. Not this year though. This year my Horns let me down big time.

Baltimore Ravens fan, really only because I'm from Baltimore. I was actually glad we did relatively well last season up until towards the end.
A buddy of mine had some kind of package that allowed us to watch games here in Japan, although a lot of the games we ended up watching second run because they were normally held at like 3 am Japan time on weekdays.

I don't necessarily miss it though, even if I couldn't watch the games. I wasn't THAT big of a fan, and quite frankly, hanging out with Japanese/other non-Americans can be fun because they get really into trying to show us what soccer and other sports are all about.

I'm not a cynic; I just like to play Devil's Advocate once in a while.

I was pulling for the Cardinals in that Super Bowl. The Steelers were just too hot that year. I had Tim Hightower and Beanie Wells on my fantasy football team last season. They were some of my only players that consistently got me points every week.

I didn't really watch any college ball this year, but I understand that UT had a very off season. Don't worry, they'll get em next year. That school is a powerhouse. How could they not?

Ravens were looking really good a couple years ago (same year as Ryzorian's Cards made it to the Super Bowl). Their performance in the last couple seasons has been because of Joe Flacco, in my opinion. The dude has been backsliding.

That's awesome that you can still get games on TV in Japan. I bet it's expensive, though :/

I hope so, because I watched the Red River Shootout (UT vs OU) at like 3am streamed over the internet onto my HDTV with a coworker who is a Sooner fan.

I did not stop hearing about it for weeks.

Ouch. Few things hurt more than being beaten by the likes of Oklahoma. AND you have to see this person at work?! I am truly sorry.

Ever since I moved to Austin I wanted to go see some Horns games. I only live like 2 miles from the stadium
