Here are copies of what was sent to me by one of this forum's members through my website's contact form.

and then he put me on the mailing list for a company that helps balding men, here's what they sent me

I traced the IP to downtown Tokyo, possibly the Nerima area.

What do you guys think?

this all started the day the forum went down

no I don't think so,
although the messages were sent from different places, one of which I think was in Minato-ku

these ip traces aren't always reliable. but I hardly needed the location to figure out who it was ;)

More importantly though, I ask you all what you think of a board member who does such things?

Yeah, I think so too.

I'm hoping for people to pass judgment on this fool before knowing who he is so as to reveal true colors without bias of previous experience.

By the way, the Japanese is perfectly native-level in those messages. It's evident it's a Japanese native. Ask yourself who fits the bill around here.

Let's just say the writing style in English is extremely familiar and if it is who it appears to me to be, they have definitely not been banned.

I wasn't aware that James had angered anyone on these boards.

Haters gonna hate....thats all, they don't need a lot of reasons for that.

I am not sure how we can be sure it came from someone on JF.

First I thought it was a foreigner in Japan then I thought,no,let's not discriminate,he or she could be Japanese.

but i think it was a slow process and i hit a nerve with my romaji comment in another thread

But it is possible it is not a member of JF at all, correct? It could be a lurker who took offense to something you wrote here... or could be someone you angered in real life, or somewhere else online, possibly.

I am not saying it isn't a JF member, I am just saying we don't know for sure.

You're entirely right, I had considered that at first also. In fact I didn't even consider JF at first, I assumed it was someone IRL, then it occurred to me that in Japan Forum is the only place where I presume to know anything about Japanese culture, speak of my time with the women here, and explain in detail my ability to read Japanese.

These things are far from concrete, but I followed a hunch and did a search on who I thought it was and his posts in other sites, traced the IP of his posts there and they were a near perfect match (as close as they can be in terms of ip traces/variability)

Anyways I will pm you those ip addresses since you're a mod here and I assume you can actually see the IP's people post from.

Is 'I hope you fry in the radiation' another little cheery quote of this guy?

Yeah you and about 4 other people pm'd me assuming it was him also simply by reading the messages I posted.
I also assumed that, and check his comments on other boards, both English and Japanese, and they correlate well.
IP's also match where he lives etc...

There are so few native Japanese people who can speak/write English the way he does, and who also voice their complaints that way :)

Oh and yeah, I had to take a bunch of steroids for a stomach problem I had back in university, which made me lose a bunch of hair, haven't really lost more since but I'm pretty bald I guess...
Luckily it was long ago that it's not a sensitive topic for me, anymore, that and in Japan women don't seem to care so much about it as they did back in Canada ;)

Anyway.. it sucks IF IT IS Masaegu (innocent untill proven guilty is something I strongly believe in).

I kinda like him. Always giving advice to the young padawan Maxful... seemed like a nice dude.

It's true that I'm not entirely sure.

I've been looking over Masaegu's posts and noticed that for over a thousand posts he's helped people, but recently it's turned to very impatient bitching (not just on this site for that matter, I checked elsewhere) I didn't want to point fingers without doing my homework first. location matches, style matches, motive is present, consistent with other behavior etc.

If it's not Masaegu, I'm really sorry! lol :) either way you've been a dick to a lot of people lately, it's hardly justified by your history of helping people.

I don't know of this SeaSide person. The only one I know that has SeaSide anywhere is my compatriot Suki, who lives in Barcelona, Seaside, baby!

Anyways, with all this, I sorta miss messing with some Germans over Fukushima and seismic activity, though I don't really want to rekindle that conversation. I just kinda missed it!:o

I just think some people ought to grow up a bit and not "hide behind the internet" ;) and perhaps grow a thicker skin.

No matter who it was - this was not really the place to air the complaint. There are countless silent members and non-members who could have sent them to you. There are no limits on reading posts here, and obviously no limits on what is needed to contact you via your site.

If you suspect it is someone from here, contact a mod. Don`t just start pointing fingers.
This thread is basically just finger pointing and gathering support to point more fingers. If someone does need to have action taken, it shouldn`t be a huge public spectacle. Without proof there is nothing we can do - for the exact reasons I pointed out above. It could be anyone who has ever browsed through this site.
