Honest japanese person? - 08-07-2011, 12:10 PM

Hi!
A few years back my best friend went to Japan (she is half japanese)
and when she returned she gave me 2 wonderful bracelets from a japanese temple. I wear them everyday and I'd like to buy some more.
For herself she bought a real cool one, where you can look into a hole and you see a Buddha. I'll upload pictures of the bracelets so you can see.
I want "original" ones bought at a temple store and not some phony stuff.
So I was wondering does anyone live near a temple that can help me out?
Or do you know someone who can?
I'll transfer money/paypal/ you name it.
Send me a PM or mail, [email protected]

Thank you!

Sandro, Stockholm

Those are pretty common and are available at most big temples. I wasn't aware there were "phony" ones available.

EDIT: I combined your two threads.

Yup, those are identical to the temple stock.

Mind you, Japanese temples have a tradition for selling bulk tourist stuff (referencing here Nakamisedoori leading to Sensoji in Asakusa and other roads leading to Minobu, Ooyama and thousands other temples). For the really expensive stuff, I'd suggest the small serious shops around Asakusa, the ones that sell the real tomb stones and lackquered oak home altars. Via net, I have no idea, sorry.
