what store in Tokyo for pc components
Hi guys and Gals,
I'll be travelling to Japan in the next 5 weeks , specificity Tokyo and i'm thinking about buying some computer parts while i'm over there. I've done a little research on-line and it seems I might be able to get a good deal. However I have no idea which shops are good in terms of reputations and also good for price. So far all the shops that I know that have a good reputation have also high prices. Does anyone know where I should look. If they have have a website too that would be awesome. thanks |
No idea what store, but I recommend the Japan-only 玄人志向 (kurouto shikou) brand. They make graphics cards, power supplies, etc., and are usually the cheapest around because they offer minimal technical support and the manual in the box is usually just a one page photocopy. The quality's quite good, though. I believe Buffalo is their parent company.

You can find all kind of computer parts store in Akihabara... just shop around there, they even have an Antec store that sells only antec products....

What Godwine says. Akiba (short from Akihabara) is a district, so make sure you have time for it. Its a LOT of PC stores.

Akihabara = labyrinth
玄人志向 (kurouto shikou) = land mine Stroll after deciding merchandise wanting it beforehand. Concretely, what buy is it scheduled? |

It's a brand that is being sold in several stores. If you can read Japanese (or at least copyPaste the address to Google maps), here's a list of retailers in Tokyo area. The reliable shops are included. |
These are multi-floor department store of pc parts in akihabara. I think these may be what you are looking for..

Amazon.
And buying parts whilst visiting Japan is madness, things cost twice as much here with the current exchange rate malarky. |
