Newborn baby found in convenience store toilet trash can

So i saw this article and thought for reals?

CHIBA —
Police said Friday they are looking for the person or persons who abandoned a newborn baby girl in a Chiba convenience store toilet at around 11 p.m. on Thursday night.

According to police, a female customer alerted the convenience store manager to the sound of a baby’s cries emanating from a trash can in the ladies’ restroom, Sankei Shimbun reported. Staff discovered a newborn baby girl wrapped in a transparent plastic bag.

The baby was rushed to hospital, but police say the her life is not in danger. It is believed that the child was abandoned immediately following her birth. Police are currently checking the store security camera footage for clues, Sankei reported.

I'm glad the baby's life is not in danger, but this is terrible!
How can people act like that and just not care?

this has happened in every single country on this planet several times.

money, family matters, shame, stupidity. any of these can be a reason, so what is there to discuss in this particular case when there are hundreds just like it out there?

I agree, this is not unique or reflective of anything pertinent in Japan.

I don't see it as reflective of Japan; I'm just glad it humanizes Japan. Don't get me wrong, the story is awful, but there are far too many people who think Japan is a holy land where this kind of issue would never happen.

And of course not saying that Japan is any sort of haven but some people like to blow "freaky" things that happen in Japan out of proportion.

I got to the point where nothing is shocking or awful to me, I mean, I've seen truly cruel things (some of which If I spoke about, I would get banned).

Why not accept human nature as it is?

Ryzorian 10-22-2011 11:45 PM

Because accepting bad behavior, no matter where it is, only encourages more bad behavior. It's why people try to hold themselves to a higher standard. They don't allways exceed true, and not everyone want's to curb their darker desires. Much chaos and carnage exist in the world.

I am curious, Guza, what are you trying to say by posting this?

Ryzorian 10-23-2011 12:32 AM

Maybe it's like Fox News about that baby that went missing recently. Though I forget the details..drunk mother or something.
