Who is your fav Author?

Ok, I check through the ENTIRE discussion forum and saw no thread about this....so, i think I am safe.....

Pretty much, who is your favorite author and why? It can be a manga or regular book author, or it could even be someone who writes the screenplays for TV shows (directors).

My favorite, as of right now is Dan Brown, the author of The Da Vinci Code. He really knows how to put twists into his books.

Hisuwashi 06-01-2007 11:19 PM

John Steinbeck => Wrote some good books about life in California in the Great Depression, and his books have specific themes to them. My favorite book by him is Of Mice And Men.

Fyodor Dostoevsky => Wrote Crime and Punishment, my favorite philosophical / psychological novel.

Kazuo Ishiguro => Excellent Japanese writer of various books, such as A Pale View of Hills.

Shiro Amano => Wrote Kingdom Hearts manga, which is awesome.

JK Rowling => For all the thrashing she gets, I actually think Harry Potter is good! Laugh at me all you wish....

Klāvs Elsbergs...
a Latvian poet of the 70's and 80's... very rough poetry, but in the same time very smart, ironic, intimate and sarcastic. Smart enough that it made through all of the soviet censorship we had here at that time and, unfortunately, his smart ass writing costed him his life, as when the censors finally got what he was writing about, he "accidentally fell through the window of the 5th floor"...

musashi 06-02-2007 01:08 AM

Meg Cabot is pretty good, i like her books......
