Jasdaq approves integration with OSE
The operator of the Jasdaq Securities Exchange for startup businesses has agreed to proceed with work to integrate with the Osaka Securities Exchange. The decision on the merger came after Jasdaq board members opposed to the plan officially resigned at the company's shareholders meeting on Tuesday. Earlier, the Japan Securities Dealers Association, Jasdaq's top shareholder, gave its approval for the Osaka Exchange to take a controlling stake in Jasdaq. Jasdaq also decided to start preparations for the integration, including the consolidation of the 2 markets' computer systems. The Osaka Securities Exchange is expected to launch a tender offer for Jasdaq as early as this summer. 2008/06/10 16:41 NHK WORLD English |
