Sumo Grand Champ Forced Into Retirement
 
Following an alleged drunken bar scuffle, Grand Champion Asashoryu has been forced to retire.

He has had quite a bit of controversy in his 7 years as yokozuna, and being from Mongolia has not always helped.

Big news here, I was a big fan, and I've visited his restaurant. What a shame... sumo will not be the same without him.

I agree...it is a real shame. I think it was nice having a yokozuna with charm and a little attitude. It is too bad he couldn't keep it reeled in when it needed to.

i don't know much about sumo.it is intresting though.i'm a big NFL football fan.there was this coach who went to japan and loved sumo.he figured a sumo would make an excellent offensive tackle.the moves and positioning are very complex.any thoughts?

I suppose that makes sense, a play is usually only a few seconds long, like a round of sumo, but offense tackles run dozens of plays in a game, where a sumo only does one in a day.
