I think people here are looking at this from only their own perspective.
You have to consider, she's been looking after him for 19 years, how many of them she did alone I don't know, but what's to say she hadn't just lost her will for it or something? Also, it costs money to put people into carehomes, maybe she can't afford that? Granted, starving him to death is not pleasent in the slightest and her excuse is a terrible, but people should try to look at it from more than one view point before they make judgements.

this is sad. something like this happened to me, except, it wasn't for a month. it happened to me and my sister. my step brother had to live with her for: years. he lived with her since he was 5 or 6. and he had to eat things off the floor. his dad told me that what ever was on the floor, was his. but, anyways, this is alot sader. if that's a word.

If you find her act cruel, than you should also condemn the society that leaves a family like that to their own devices.... I'm sorry for her that she found no other solution, and I'm sorry for the guy to lose his life like this.
