I'M SO FREAKING GLAD I FOUND THIS THREAD.
I'm going to Japan and will be staying with a host family for a MONTH. I didn't once thinking about getting them a present. But it completely makes sense since you'll be intruding and everything. I really like the food idea, but the only problem is that living in Vegas, there isn't really any unique food here... If you were hosting a kid from Vegas, what would YOU like to get as a gift? |
I haven't the time to look back at the other posts, but I was told that a good gift for a host family is a melon. Not sure how much truth is in that, but it might work okay for you.

kid from vegas huh?
something to remember you by. something about where you live. something from the heart-origami. XD Scrounge around duty free in the airport before you go japan, they always have LOTS of gifts you can buy people. I live in england-SO not hard shortbread and hennessy. in DUTY FREE. XD |

Why did I have to live in Modesto? I tried thinking of something unique to area but Modesto is boring as crap! The only "special" thing about where I live is that we're supposedly the Meth capital of the world. And Lord knows I can't get past airport security with that! I like the ghirardelli chocolate idea though! I hear that japan's chocolate isn't that great. :vsign:
