Japan here we come!

Greetings everybody :)

I am 22 years old from Oman, a country in the Middle East. My husband and I are planning to fly to Japan on the 21st of June for 5 days.

We're going to be Tokyo. Our travel agent is going to book the flight and hotel for us, but not the tours. Can you help me with the sightseeings and what must I see and do?

We're into everything fun. Whatever comes to your mind, can you please help? It's only 5 days and we want to make the best of it.

I heard of the Narita San.. Is it anywhere close to Tokyo? I want to go there and place my wishes :o

Heeelp!

Thanks..

The standard will be shopping around Shinjuki, Shibuya, Harajuku. Shrines in Harajuku and Asakusa. Electronics and toys in Akiba, and futurstic down in Odaiba.

If I am in your shoes, I will do the following:

Day 1 - Shinjuku, Harajuku (Meiji Shrine), Shibuya
Day 2 - Asakusa, Akiba, Tokyo Tower, Roppongi Hills
Day 3 - Odaiba + any of the above
Day 4 - Yokohama + Any of the above
Day 5 - Kamakura + Any of the above

It really depends what you want to do.

Can you provide a description of everything you wrote? I don't quite know what they are.

We'd love to go on sighseeing mainly and little of shopping.

You didn't tell me about NArita San..

Unless they have changed the signs, you aren't going to find "Akiba" on a map. It's the nickname for Akihabara.

You must get high at least once!

By this I mean try to get to the Tokyo Metropolitan tower, the Tokyo Tower or roppongi hills observation decks. You will see far more of Tokyo this way.

Book a 1 day trip to Fuji san.

The suijyo bus is kinda cool. It's a tour of Tokyo from the water.

God bless you all. You've been a great help :)

question: are tour buses available? I mean the big red sighseeing bus.. could I find them easily?

Also, no one replied to my answer regarding the Narita San; if it's anywhere close to Tokyo or in Tokyo..

Thanks a bunch :)

Narita San on Wikipedia
Narita San on japan-guide.com
Narita San official website

Looks like you're in luck - I'm guessing you're flying in and out from Narita airport, and from the articles you should be able to catch a 10 minute train from their to Narita station then it's a 15-20 minute walk to Narita San. Otherwise it's a bit of a longer trip from Tokyo.

Good luck!

Thats true, sorry, always overlooked that. I would like to agree with Fuji San, but I am not sure if 1 day is enough, since you are in that area already, might as well hit up Atami or Hakone??
