Yes it's on the forms. I've seen it. I wouldn't know how to advice you.. but i just got back from Japan last weekend and when I landed they did all sorts of check ups on me and my husband although we were already cleared back in my country!

Sounds like there is no universal experience... sorry, man.

So what is everyones advise to me then ? If I write no and they find out, then what kind of trouble am I in ? Can I play dumb with this ?

If I write yes, then they will automatically turn me away ? If I am denied entry, can I appeal it or speak with someone higher up and explain my situation ?

I just bought 5K worth of tickets to go and would hate to have my wife stranded there alone and me back here......

What country was checking up on you and for what ???

Dude, I'm just gonna suggest this;

Why don't you call the japanese embassy and ask about this? Surely they know more than us. You have a record (old as it may be), but you're not currently wanted or something...

I would advise to check the NO box mate. you will only be putting yourself up for allot of trouble if you check the YES box.
Unless you are wanted by Interpol or any major agency then check NO.

If you have minor criminal records then don't bother as they will not be on any of the internetworks the governments use and then they will have to contact your home land to find out what the criminal records say. This may take a long time and you will still be permitted entry.

If your records say you are a murderer, child abuser, gangster ect then you may be refused entry. Most minor crimes will be ignored.

JUST SAY NO.
