i want to travel to tokyo next christams / new year

Christmas isn't a big celebration in Japan... people usually just buy a Christmas Cake and eat it with friends or family.

New Years is a much more important holiday in Japan, and the place to be is usually at a temple, where they ring the bells 108 times to chase away evil spirits for the new year.

I'm actually in Tokyo right now, and there really isn't much warning that is needed to be given. Most STORES in Tokyo take credit cards, but for resturants (particularly the traditional ones) you will want cash. Hmm what else... everyone is very nice here so you won't have a problem if you need help with something. Hotels here get booked very very quickly, so I suggest you get a reservation as soon as possible as to avoid spending the night on the street you will do fine

I actually had a question about this. For Americans traveling out there, what's the best bank you use to get access to your cash while you're there? Mine is very expensive and I'm looking at opening another account while traveling in Tokyo. Are there any banks that have branches in the States and Tokyo? If not what banks have you used for ATMs?
