Wow! Talk about planning ahead.

My advice is to start saving and to start learning basic Japanese. Who knows what'll happen in 2012?

I prepared for about 200000 yen worth of spending money last time i ws there for 14 days, so prepare to save another 200000 yen for plane ticket and accomodation. Look for a company call IACE, they do very cheap travel package. i am not sure about 14 days though

I'd recommend doing a Google search for airline tickets as well as vacation packages in Japan. Since you're planning in advance, you should have enough time to find the best deal on your own without the cost of using a travel agency. Be sure to get traveler's insurance or insurance on the flight in case something urgent comes up between now and then which forces you to cancel the trip.

Assuming the world doesn't come to an end in 2012.. You will have a great time.

Go through all the major airlines and ask regarding tickets starting from 8 months before you travel.
