hey guys,

looks like il have three days in the Kyoto area during my trip to Japan,

i think ive worked out the main sights we would like to see,
ive put together a bit of a plan for the two days,
can you tell me if this is practical or really pushing it for time

Day 1 :
Leave Osaka Early
1/2 day in Nara
Fushimi Inari

Day 2 :
Kinkakuji
Kiyomizudera
Gion

Day 3
Nishiki Markets
Arashiyama (monkey park and bamboo forrest)
Finish up mid afternoon for travel to Gamagōri, Aichi

also what is the best method of transport around Kyoto to see the places i mention.

any tips appreciated,

Thanks,

Ben

you should use the japan guide for getting the better option for the current traveling arrangement. As they change from time to time.

Transportation information can be obtained here:

Kyoto City Web / Access / Public transport in Kyoto

you can get a tourist bus map here:

http://www.city.kyoto.lg.jp/kotsu/cm...i_en200801.pdf

The best thing is to get a bus pass, the map will show you routes and bus number that will take you to these places. Japan-guide do give some access information, but i think this site will probably help you plan your trip better, just look at the bus number and color coding, the easiest easiest is to use the Raku 1XX series bus. They take you to all the major attractions, including the ones you listed.
