Hotel Recommendations for Osaka?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to book a nice Western hotel in Osaka for 3 nights (booking in advance for March 2011). I was wondering if anyone could recommend any particular hotels (or any good, safe websites for hotel comparisons/bookings)?

I'm looking for somewhere in Osaka that is close to rail transportation, for a price of under $100 per night. If the price was right, i'd like the hotel to be in the city centre.

I am also doing my own research into this topic, but there appear to be many options and i would really value your opinions and recommendations.

Many thanks.

This is where I stayed last few times. My wife, being a clean freak, was also quite happy with it:

I usually book through japan-hotels.net, but other members here had bad experience with them in the past i heard

I would recommend to look for a hotel in the area of Esaka. There you can find one called sunny stone hotel which I've been at a few times. Also you have parkside hotel in Esaka. If you stay in Esaka you have close to Osaka station.

Sunny stone

I was there too during my honey moon :) Got the same recommendation from godwine and we were very happy with it.

You won't be disappointed. The hotel is in a great spot, close to undergrounds and a road full of restaurants. Our room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was OK, not the best I had during our holiday, but I'm very picky when it comes to food :D

I'm currently in Osaka right now, staying at the Hotel Monterey. It's 5 minutes from Osaka station and quite luxurious :
expedia

I booked it through expedia and it came out to around $110 Cdn a night.

Thirding this. I was there last year and will be going back next year without hesitation. Great price given the location, great service and more than adequate room.
