Cell Phone Email -

Just had a quick question regarding Japanese cell phone email.
A friend told me that her cell account (through vodafone.ne.jp) can only accept email from cell phones. Is this something which occurred recently? Or does it depend from provider to provider? I could've sworn I sent emails earlier this year from my PC to vodafone.ne.jp. |

Softbank (former) user here, (I'm currently using b-mobile, which runs on docomo's network), and I can assure you that these addresses (like my own i.softbank.jp address) work exactly the same as any other email address.

There is a setting you can use to block messages from non-phones. It is one of the more popular ways to block spam as most spam messages aren't coming from another phone.
Chances are, those are her settings and values not being flooded by spam over getting messages from pc addresses. |
