What to wear?
 

I am going on holiday to Japan next year in mid june, spending 2 weeks travelling from Tokyo to Hirado.

What should i pack??

Will be getting quite warm, but always good to pack jackets and sweaters. I always go for layers when travelling in Japan as you can take things off as you get warm. Also the department stores etc are steaming, so you need to be able to take at least the top layer off. Up North it will be alot cooler of course so that is why layers are important.

I agree. Just to let you know, Tokyo can get quite stuffy and hot.

Not as bad as Kansai tho...OMG you so don't want to be there in summer. It is known as the most humid place!!! It's awful, I spent 2 summers there. But it was worth it, loved it so much.

What to Wear
 

Shoes that you can slip on and off easily. Light clothes. When I was there two summers ago, it was rainy and cooler than any of my other trips, but I never wished that I had long pants. I'd risk leaving long pants at home, unless you have a tat you want to cover until you are actually inside of a sento/onsen, (when most establishments are too polite to ask you to leave!)

June thru to August you get alot of rain and thunderstorms. Always carry an umbrella with you. The rain in Japan in persistant and sometimes will carry on for days at a time.

cover up tattoo's??
hmmmm i have a couple, one of which i cant cover without a longsleeve top, not offensive tho, just stars.... or is it just bad all together?

As I said I have one and started to cover it with plaster in the beginning then after a while didn't bother, never got any hassle just looks and some qustions from giggly young girls. It is more non yakusa like for a girl to have a tatoo, not as anti social. It's just not seen on many Japanese women, so you may get some unwanted attention.
