Kyushu Island, Kumamoto Prefecture
 

I'm going to Kumamoto Prefecture in the end of August, (first time in Japan!) is anyone here familiar with the egion? Or have any good info on it? All i've found was the local delicacies, a few tourist spots and some slight general info, not much though. Anyy help out there?

i love kumamoto. do yourself the favour of going to Mt aso. it is a train ride fom kumamoto station to Aso. then a bus ride to the base station. we walked up instead of taking the skyway. loved it!!!!
