Summer Trip F/ SummerSonic?
 

Hello!

I am planning on a trip to Japan this summer. I wanted to hit up the Summer Sonic Music Festival. I wanted to spend 2 weeks in whole. How suhould I expect to spend if I budget? I thought I would stay in a hostel to save some money. Is this a good idea? Also, Does anyone know of any cheap airlines? I was looking at flights from SFO and ther are all between $1k - $3k and that seems like too much.

Depends upon when you fly. A good rate is $700 or so, round trip, from SFO to Japan.

Is Asia.com a reliable source? Have you bought from them before?

$1K-$3k? I have never paid over 1000 bucks...usually 600-850 or so. Through SFO I would take United.

Is it possible to find a flight in that range from SFO during summer? I checked asia.com and the summer prices are much higher than they are now and would probably be in the $900 range and above once all the taxes and fuel charges are added up. Where do you buy your tickets from, MMM?

I just went to Delta.com and their prices are really high. How did you find a flight for $600-$850? Are the fuel surcharge and tax already included in those prices you listed?

With taxes and fuel surcharge it's an extra $300 on top of the ticket price. This winter the cheapest I could find is a $500 ticket before the surcharge and taxes but when all is said and done it should be close to $800. This is the price I found on IACE and JTB USA which are supposed to be some of the cheapest places to find tickets to Japan.
