I once told a drunk guy that his Kanji tattoo meant "feminine gay man". It was fun to watch him after that. I told him after a couple of minutes I didn't know what it meant. He was pissed, but he agreed with me that no one should get a tattoo in writing they don't understand.

契
I reduce it to its lowest terms.
 I make an advance arrangement.
I let you exchange opinions. I arrange it.
 I exchange it.
 I conclude a pledge.
 A promise.

Not a promise of the business such as the contract(契約), it is a promise of feelings.

The first tattoo reminds me of the Chinese characters 圭 and 尸 I have no idea what's up with that crazy 横 and 点 on the bottom.

圭 [guī] means Jade and 尸 [shī] means Corpse. Jade Corpse.

Honestly its probably complete gibberish...

I'll never understand why people get tattoos they can't read.

EDIT: I just thought it over and stared at it for a bit and realized the 圭 character might be 王, which has multiple meanings in Chinese, most of them stand for Royalty of some sort. So if it is 王 it could very well mean King Corpse, Royal Corpse, Ruler Corpse or since 王 is also a Surname the surname of a corpse.
