I have never heard of a rice strain that is pitch black to the leaves, unless if it was grown in a special space with dyed nutrients or something.

So far, we don't have enough info about this in English.

Deviruu 07-25-2009 11:20 AM

I find myself saying it on a daily basis :D
Thi is seriously awesome though, I like the Doraemon one!

alanX 07-29-2009 10:10 PM

HAHA. That Doraemon one is probably my favorite also.

But, I found this website that shows exactly how they are made, if anyone is interested. Seems to me that they actually plant them like that, then simply let them grow.

Probably.
Only Beni-zome may be Mochi rice.
These type of rice except Tsugatu-roman are so special that common Japanese have not eaten or even looked at.

That is better than crop circles. I've seen that done with flowers, but I like the earthly colors more.

Anyone might be able to walk through paths among each fields.
No one cannot enter the fields except farmers and rice fields are filled with water.

Autumn season has come and rice crops are changing their color to yellow.
