Corsets...

okay... i love to wear corsets... i finally got a new sewing machine so my idea is to try to attempt to make a corset... anyone got any pointers??
(i'm really good when it comes to sewing and designing clothes, so i can take just about any thing you throw at me )

I design clothes fulltime myself actually- I run Gloomth and we're launching our couture line at the end of this month (website for it).

Um Ive only made a couple of actual boned corsets in my sewing life...They take a really long time, for me at least, but im a perfectionist when sewing from scratch.

Are you planning to use steel or plastic boning? Are you using a pattern???

i'm a perfectionist as well when it comes to things like this...
i dont think i want to use plastic cause i don't like the way it like folds... you know? its annoying to me. so prolly steel. and pattern... not sure yet.
what would your opinions be????????

steel boning lasts longer fit-wise and itll retain its shape well, and create that waspie waist look.

definitely get a pattern. I cant count how many "experimental" corsets ive made that are still wasted fabric in my scraps bin

i just had a look at the gloomth site & its sooo beautiful!!! not just the clothes that were lovely, femanine and gothic but the actuall website itself is really cool,its all creepy! =P
